Who we serve
Our clients
Founders and owner-managers
Owners who built the business themselves and are considering a full or partial sale, whether to retire, realise value or bring in a partner for the next stage of growth.
Family-owned businesses
Families weighing a sale against succession, where the right buyer matters as much as the price and continuity for employees and customers is part of the brief.
Shareholders who have been approached
Owners who have received an unsolicited offer and want it tested against the wider market before they respond, so that they negotiate from a position of knowledge.
Partners and co-shareholders
Businesses with several shareholders where one or more wish to exit, and a sale of their stake to an investor may suit everyone better than a sale of the whole.
How we work
Independent, candid and aligned.
- Independent. Not tied to any bank, fund or buyer, and never acting for both sides of the same transaction.
- Selective. A small number of mandates at a time, each run by a partner throughout.
- Research-led. Our own research into the accounts, owners, lenders and acquisitions of more than 50,000 UK private companies, which we use to find the buyers most likely to value a business, to set its figures against its peers’, and to anticipate what a buyer will ask.
- Candid. An honest view of value at the outset, including when it is not what an owner hoped to hear.
- Aligned. Fees agreed in writing before work begins, and weighted towards completion.
